Facebook used to be such a cool place. Then all those stupid "other" (and older) people started using it. and now it's just CRAP! That's the way it is with everything in this world - everything good turns gay! Ever say any insanely pessimistic/cynical, suicide-inducing, and most importantly, misguided garbage like that?

I mean, I get it. There actually seems to be a pattern/cycle of behaviour that repeats itself whenever a something cool like Facebook arrives in the world - fresh from the human mind:

First, a thinker uses knowledge, logic, trial & error to solve a problem. Second, the world loves it and everyone gets one: and because most people are not smart, they use it badly. Third, because many people use it stupidly (and most people aren't smart), the original solution is seen as "corrosive to our social fabric", or whatever.

This was true for the internet as well (SOOO much porn), but having virtually all the world's collected knowledge available to virtually everyone ALL the time, along with being able to contact virtually EVERYONE that (not just) you know, and perfectly record moments in your life/time, is REALLY a good thing, isn't it?! Maybe it's just how the tech is being used and (maybe) that it's the user that needs that needs correction.

If Facebook was built to serve a community, not make money, much of it's recent negative publicity/activity could've been avoided. Or, if a nation decided to build a Facebook-like app to help interact with/administer its populace. It could be the first of its kind, not a just social network, but a Societal Network.
